Colombia Mission Trip!

I have an opportunity to go to Colombia the beginning of July on a short term team mission trip.

I.N. Network USA (where I work) has a growing child sponsorship there and we help support the I.N. Network Colombia ministry. Colombia has the second largest population of displaced people in the world because of armed conflict. The need is so great the government is not able to help all in need. The La Rosa de Saron school provides a Christian education for children from La Playa. The teaching staff are all Christian volunteers. The child sponsorship program provides a government approved education, uniforms, shoes, and one hot meal per day. They also receive basic medical care and Christian love from teachers who minister to them. The husband of our Executive Director of I.N. Network Colombia, is a pastor of a church that shares the same property as the school. The church reaches out to the La Playa community.

Hurricane winds damaged the school and church. Our team will be doing construction and miscellaneous work such as cleaning, painting, and plastering at both the church and school. We will be out in the community playing with the children and worshipping with the families. Through these activities I hope to share Jesus’ love with the people of Barranquilla.
